Job Summary
Conduct moderate and waived toxicology drug analysis by analyzing patient specimens on various analyzers and performing routine and STAT laboratory tests. Manage specimen workflow including tracking, processing, racking, and disposal while maintaining accurate medical records. Perform quality control on instrumentation, execute preventative maintenance and troubleshooting, and verify results by correlating abnormal data with patient history. Make independent decisions on testing prioritization and seek manager consultation when necessary. Comply with federal confidentiality regulations including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. Assist with ordering laboratory supplies to maintain inventory levels.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor's or associate degree in a chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution
- 60 semester hours which includes 24 semester hours of science courses
Desired Qualifications
- 6-months working in Ideal Option Laboratories
- 1-year experience in a clinical laboratory setting
