Job Summary
Analyst I performs preparation and analysis of environmental samples using standard techniques per EPA methods under supervision in a second-shift environment (2pm-10pm or 4pm-12am). Responsibilities include sample preparation, chemical analysis, data calculation and reporting, routine instrument maintenance, and adherence to GMP/GLP and QA standards. The role requires following protocols across disciplines such as gas chromatography, GC/MS, ICP, and related instrumentation, with emphasis on accuracy, timely completion, safety, and the ability to work in a team. Requires an AS degree in Chemistry or equivalent, English proficiency, willingness to work overtime, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of an Associate of Science degree in Chemistry or equivalent experience
- Experience in an environmental lab is a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Willingness to put in overtime hours as necessary to meet work needs
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
- Professional working proficiency in English (read, write, and speak)
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently following written or verbal instructions
- Able to follow and learn appropriate protocols in multiple disciplines (e.g., Organic preparation, Metals preparation and analysis, Gas Chromatography, GC/MS, Radio Chemistry, Wet Chemistry)
