Job Summary
Perform hair sample sectioning, prepare batches for analysis, and conduct laboratory testing for alcohol and drugs of abuse. Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures, complete accurate documentation, and maintain routine equipment calibration to ensure quality standards. Uphold strict confidentiality regarding all sample information obtained during analysis. This role requires a Degree-level qualification in Biomedical Sciences or Biochemistry with knowledge of ISO17025 and laboratory techniques. Applicants must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities. Joining the UKAS accredited Lextox team in Cardiff, this full-time permanent position supports family law and childcare proceedings.
Required Qualifications
- Degree level qualification in Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry or a relevant scientific discipline
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques, instrumentation and procedures
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong focus on service and quality
- Good problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of ISO17025
- Previous experience of working in a laboratory setting
Desired Qualifications
- Previous laboratory experience in Toxicology or similar industry (preferrable hair testing lab)
- Knowledge of regulatory bodies and accreditations
- Previous experience with Quality Management Systems
