Job Summary
Prepare and analyze samples by following Standard Operating Procedures to ensure accurate, reliable data within required turnaround times. Operate laboratory instrumentation including balances, pipettes, centrifuges, and specialized analytical instruments while maintaining equipment and preparing reagents. Apply quality control procedures throughout testing to ensure proper sample handling, prevent cross-contamination, and maintain accurate records using laboratory information management systems. Maintain clean workspaces, monitor supplies, and communicate sample issues or procedural deviations to the supervisor. Participate in safety initiatives, audits, and continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency and service delivery. This permanent, onsite role in Mississauga requires five days per week from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Required Qualifications
- Laboratory knowledge gained through education, laboratory experience, or a combination of both
- Attention to detail regarding accuracy, documentation, and following established procedures
- Technical aptitude for learning new laboratory techniques, equipment, and computer systems
- Commitment to safety and following health, safety, and quality procedures
- Permanent, onsite role based in Mississauga
- On-site five days per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in an analytical or environmental laboratory
- Experience using laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or quality management software
