Laboratory Analyst

Job Summary
Laboratory Analyst 1 performs comprehensive lab analysis activities including preparation of standards, sample extractions, instrument operation (Basic and Level 1 analytical instruments), data processing, SOP review/writing, QA/QC approvals, and daily scheduling. Responsibilities include calibrating and maintaining instruments, generating work lists, ensuring safety and compliance with SOPs, training other staff, communicating with Client Services, delivering accurate results on time, and supporting inventory and documentation efforts in a fast-paced production environment.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of degree/diploma in Biology or Microbiology, or related discipline
- Some experience working in a fast-paced, production, and/or preparation environment
- Previous lab experience an asset
- Good English communication skills (auditory, verbal, written, and reading)
- Accurate and efficient data entry skill
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Well organized with the ability to meet strict deadlines
- Analytical and process-oriented; able to think critically in ambiguous situations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and willingness to take on varied tasks
