Job Summary
Laboratory Aide collects blood samples from neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in the laboratory outpatient service area, laboratory area, nursing floors, or in the emergency room; labels specimens and transports them to the laboratory for testing; prepares urine specimens; maintains inventory of supplies and notifies leadership when supplies are needed; assists in charting and filing laboratory slips, answers the telephone, and helps maintain a clean and orderly laboratory environment. Shift: Days. Hours: 20 per week. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a formal phlebotomy program or demonstrated phlebotomy skills prior to employment.
