Job Summary
Laboratory Administrator at ALS coordinating administrative and office support activities while handling data management and client-facing tasks. Primary responsibilities include entering, editing, and maintaining data in systems (including LIMS), generating reports, managing communications (mail, email, courier), greeting visitors with proper security checks, coordinating facilities maintenance with external vendors, onboarding and training coordination, and supporting financial processes such as invoices and purchasing. The role also entails detailed data verification of work orders, account setup and maintenance in LIMS, sample status tracking, and ensuring quality records and SOPs are kept up to date. Required skills include strong English communication, exceptional organizational abilities, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with LIMS is an asset. The position emphasizes customer service, accurate data handling, and collaborative teamwork within a 24/7 operational environment in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 12
- Minimum of 2 years office related experience
- Completion of an office administration certificate or diploma preferred
- Strong customer service and client-focused mindset
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Working knowledge of LIMS is an asset
