Labor Relations Coordinator (Contract)

Job Summary

Greet visitors, manage phone coverage, and schedule negotiation sessions for the Deputy Director/Chief Negotiator. Maintain the department calendar for grievance hearings, union meetings, and vacations while processing invoices and tracking their completion. Coordinate excused time requests, prepare settlement memos, and proofread documents before distribution. Open and close matters in PeopleSoft and Law Manager, produce matter reports, and review arbitrator invoices for attorney approval. Schedule disciplinary hearings, reserve locations, and compile biweekly union dues deduction reports. Distribute Board of Commissioner meeting minutes to unions and assist in disciplinary checks for Police Academy Training Opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years' progressively responsible administrative experience
  • Organized and high attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a human resources, labor relations, law firm, or in a paralegal capacity
