Job Summary
Draft and respond to discovery, initial pleadings, and motions; take and defend depositions for private and carrier clients. Manage files and deadlines while handling issues ranging from employment counseling to commercial litigation, with a preference for prior employment litigation experience on the management side. Work independently as a self-starter within a full-service AmLaw 100 firm's Labor & Employment Practice, providing sound counsel across dozens of jurisdictions. This part-time role requires Ohio bar admission and extensive client, agency, and opposing counsel contact.
Required Qualifications
- Admitted to practice in Ohio
- At least one (1) to seven (7) years of experience in employment law matters
- Prior employment litigation experience
- Employment counseling or in-house employment law experience preferred
- Comfortable drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings
- Comfortable drafting and arguing motions
- Comfortable taking and defending depositions
- Strong writing and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Substantive litigation experience
- Demonstrated interest in labor and employment law
