Job Summary

Advise innovative technology, life sciences, and public companies on sophisticated employment counseling and transactional matters. Draft and negotiate executive employment agreements, separation agreements, restrictive covenants, offer letters, and workplace policies. Counsel clients regarding federal and state employment laws, including wage and hour, leave laws, discrimination, harassment, and employee classification issues. Support labor and employment aspects of mergers & acquisitions, private equity transactions, and venture capital financings. Manage sophisticated matters while maintaining significant client interaction. Requires J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, DC bar admission, and 1–3 years of labor & employment experience at a sophisticated firm. Compensation ranges from $225,000 to $260,000.

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of labor & employment experience gained at a sophisticated law firm
  • Experience advising employers regarding employment law compliance, workplace policies, employee relations, hiring and termination matters, and day-to-day employment counseling
  • Experience drafting and negotiating executive employment agreements, separation agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, offer letters, and workplace policies
  • Experience supporting the labor and employment aspects of mergers & acquisitions, private equity transactions, venture capital financings, and other corporate transactions
  • Experience counseling clients regarding federal and state employment laws, including wage and hour, leave laws, discrimination, harassment, and employee classification issues
  • Strong legal research, drafting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to independently manage sophisticated matters while maintaining significant client interaction
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
  • DC bar admission required or ability to become admitted
