Job Summary
Assist the surgeon under direct and indirect supervision throughout preoperative, intraoperative, and post-operative duties. Perform specific tasks including exposure, hemostasis, and closure using appropriate techniques such as retractors, sutures, and hemostatic agents. Manage patient positioning on equipment like fracture tables and head stabilizers while ensuring comfort and safety. Apply wound dressings and administer local anesthetic as directed. Evaluate the patient post-procedure for positioning-related injuries. Requires 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience and CST certification. Less than 10% travel time. On-site work at Emory Healthcare.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Less than 10% of the time may be required (Travel)
- 20-50 lbs (Lifting)
- Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs
- Occasional to frequent standing & walking
- Occasional sitting
- Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing)
- Blood-borne pathogen exposure
