Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse / RN

Job Summary
Delivers safe, effective, and independent nursing care using the nursing process, performing thorough patient assessments and developing individualized care plans based on patient and family input. Documents care accurately in electronic and physical records while identifying learning needs and recognizing cultural differences to personalize care. Functions in a developing leadership role, delegating appropriately and assisting in orienting staff and students when preceptors are unavailable. Works effectively with the interdisciplinary team, advocates for patients and families, and identifies needs for policy revisions based on evidence-based research. Collects, reports, and analyzes data to improve patient care and meet organizational standards while maintaining required points and contact hours. Requires a BSN or ADN with recent nursing experience, BLS certification, and ACLS; includes physical demands of lifting up to 75 lbs and environmental exposures such as blood-borne pathogens and shift work.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- 12 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years
- Recent completion of a re-entry nursing program
- Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience within the past five years
- Current LPNs employed within the Emory Healthcare (EHC) system who have completed an accredited RN program and obtain RN licensure
- Valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing
- BLS certification
- Active compact/multistate license (eNLC) within 60 days of hire
- Completion of an accredited WOC Nursing Education program
- Certification in Wound Care and Ostomy Care within 12 months of entering the role
