Labor and Delivery Nurse - Part Time

Job Summary
Conduct examinations, labor, and delivery care for assigned OB/GYN patients while monitoring medical equipment and recording statistics. Provide direct patient care, administer medication, and perform laboratory duties according to approved policies. Maintain cleanliness of birth rooms and stock supplies post-delivery. Anticipate needs of CNM, patients, and families, offering educational, emotional, and physical support. Communicate orally and verbally with staff and patients, updating the attending Nurse Midwife on patient conditions. Work on-call shifts available on 30-minute notice and submit bi-weekly time sheets. Maintain neonatal and adult CPR certification and complete yearly continuing education.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Bachelor of Science program
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of North Carolina
- Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience in maternal/child health, labor and delivery, and neonatal care
- Previous experience in a birth center setting desirable
- Current neonatal and adult CPR certification
- Knowledgeable about maternal/child health, pregnancy, labor and delivery, postpartum care and newborn care
- Ability to communicate well both orally and verbally with staff and patients
- Able to work well in stressful situations with all types of patients
- Able to anticipate needs of CNM, patient and family
- Maintains current neonatal and adult CPR skills and certification
- Takes on-call shifts and is available to work on 30-minute notice
