Job Summary
Labor Affairs Specialist to foster strong employee and union relations for a manufacturing environment; responsible for leading CBA negotiations and processes, developing and maintaining policies for consistent employee treatment, training management on company policies and CBA, investigating and resolving employee issues, managing labor contracts, overseeing grievance review and arbitration procedures, analyzing turnover and absenteeism to improve labor stability, staying updated on labor trends and legal changes, collaborating with regional labor on negotiation strategies, ensuring compliance with FMLA, payroll, EEO and Affirmative Action programs, and maintaining open communication with UAW local representatives to maintain a union-free environment where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in HR or related field
- FMLA and Medical Leave Administration experience are required
- Knowledge of state and federal laws is required
- Benefits and payroll knowledge are required
- Minimum 3-5 years of HR experience in a manufacturing setting, or 5-10 years of general HR experience
