Job Summary
As a Lab Tester, you will perform basic quantitative and qualitative tests on produced paper in a 24/7 facility, following specified testing standards. Responsibilities include collecting machine samples, conducting tests, interpreting results, documenting data in SAP or other databases, reporting deviations, communicating issues to appropriate departments, assisting in new product development testing, troubleshooting and adjusting testing machine controls, maintaining 5S in the lab, calibrating equipment, and performing routine maintenance on tools and devices. Must be able to operate precision measuring equipment and work a 3-2-2 shift (7a-7p then 7p-7a) in Urbana, OH. Education: High School Diploma or GED; preferred two years of quality experience. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- two years of quality experience preferred
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as a ruler, tape measure, calipers, and micrometers
- Ability to read directions and apply them to the job
- Ability to work with production operators to identify corrective actions to quality issues
- Ability to multi-task and work with little supervision in a team environment
- Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges
- Physical requirements – lift and manipulate unwieldy parts weighing approximately 50 lbs up to 60 lbs with help
- Physical requirements to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
- Basic keyboarding skills and basic knowledge of computer operations
- Ability to train others
