Job Summary
Monitor department quality control policies, document activities, and ensure instrument calibrations and maintenance are performed. Correlate laboratory methods, procedures, and patient test results with age-specific population criteria while addressing safety and psychological needs. Establish service priorities and workflow patterns to assure prompt and efficient delivery of services. Evaluate departmental performance and recommend measures to improve service quality and current methodologies. Maintain stocked supplies and demonstrate understanding of patient needs across specific age groups. Work weekends and holidays as scheduled. Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology and NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist license required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science from an accredited school
- Licensed under the NYS Dept of Education as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist
- Must work weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Good oral and written communication skills essential
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of hematology, chemistry, blood bank, and/or microbiology preferred
- Hospital experience desired
