Job Summary

Receive and log incoming samples, collect specimens with proper chain-of-custody documentation, and prepare chemical solutions and reagents per written procedures. Set up and maintain workstations, clean glassware, and support routine testing by organizing materials and assisting senior technicians. Document all work accurately in laboratory notebooks and electronic systems while adhering to strict OSHA safety protocols and PPE requirements. This contract position includes structured training in industry-standard lab practices and requires flexibility to work varying shifts.

Required Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of laboratory safety practices and willingness to follow detailed safety procedures
  • Familiarity with OSHA guidelines or other workplace safety standards, with the ability to apply them in daily tasks
  • Experience or exposure to sample collection and handling in a lab, field, or industrial setting
  • Ability to handle, measure, and mix chemicals accurately and safely
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions and standard operating procedures
  • Comfortable working with repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and quality
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules or shifts as required by operational needs
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience in an industrial, environmental, or analytical laboratory setting
  • Exposure to basic laboratory instrumentation and measurement techniques
  • Familiarity with data entry into laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or similar software
  • Understanding of basic chemistry concepts such as concentrations, dilutions, and units of measure
  • Coursework or training in chemistry, biology, or related sciences
  • Associate degree or technical certificate in a scientific or technical field
  • OSHA or laboratory safety training certifications
