Lab Technician

Lab Technician at STgenetics responsible for operating and maintaining sorters and lab computers for data entry, participating in daily production of sexed semen with emphasis on sterility and semen quality, performing startup/calibration/sort setup and shutdown of sorters, cleaning and sterilization, and adhering to sterile techniques and safety precautions. The role involves data manipulation and reporting using software such as spreadsheets, relational databases, email, internet, statistical packages, and graphics packages; inventory management and knowledge of laboratory materials and vendors. The position supports training and mentoring junior team members, with potential to take on increased responsibilities and contribute to process improvements and long-term laboratory success. Requires foundational lab skills (flow cytometry, sperm physiology), 2+ years’ related experience or equivalent education, and the ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends; high attention to detail; proficiency in Excel/Word/Access; and an affirmative action EE0 employer stance.
