Job Summary
Lab Technician role focusing on foundational and advanced lab skills with hands-on training in flow cytometry and sperm physiology. Responsible for operating and maintaining sorters and lab computers, supporting daily production of sexed semen with emphasis on sterility and semen quality, performing sorter startup/setup/shutdown, cleaning, sterilization, and bacterial testing. Requires sterile techniques, safe handling of hazardous materials, and use of software (spreadsheets, databases, email, statistics, graphics) to assemble/format data and test reports. Must follow universal safety precautions, monitor inventory, stay current on vendor materials, and demonstrate flexibility to work evenings, nights, and weekends. Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 2+ years’ related experience or equivalent education
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work any shift; including evenings, nights and weekends.
- Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access
