Job Summary
Perform CLIA high-complexity, real-time PCR testing, collect and analyze patient specimens, and accurately document results in the electronic medical record. Execute quality control procedures, equipment calibration, and routine maintenance while ensuring compliance with CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards. Manage specimen preparation for internal and external testing, monitor inventory and expiration dates, and troubleshoot testing discrepancies or equipment issues. Maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment and collaborate with providers to support efficient operations. This role supports accurate, rapid diagnostics in a growing network of urgent care clinics across the Southeastern U.S., directly impacting patient outcomes in underserved communities.
Required Qualifications
- Medical laboratory certification
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science
- Two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience
- molecular or PCR-based testing experience
- Proficiency in real-time PCR and molecular diagnostic techniques
- Knowledge of high-complexity laboratory testing standards and CLIA requirements
- Strong attention to detail and quality assurance practices
- Ability to troubleshoot testing and equipment issues
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- 10-hour shifts
- scheduled across 7 days per week
- Rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Five (5) years of clinical laboratory experience
- Experience performing high-complexity real-time PCR testing in a regulated laboratory environment
- Experience in urgent care, primary care, or high-volume clinical settings
