Job Summary
Operate shop equipment including band saws, mills, grinders, and polishing to cut, machine, and prepare test specimens to required dimensions and tolerances. Conduct destructive testing in accordance with applicable standards, including tensile, bend, impact, and hardness tests, while performing hydrostatic testing of components and assemblies. Perform chemical analysis using available lab equipment and assist with weld procedure qualification testing. Maintain equipment and tooling in safe working condition, ensure proper material identification and traceability, and record and report test results accurately. Maintain testing records, logs, and documentation in accordance with quality system requirements and applicable codes.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Authorized to work in Canada
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years in a machine shop, fabrication environment
- 2+ years experience in a materials testing lab
- Experience performing hydrotesting
