Job Summary
Prepare and test samples for NACE/AMPP Sour Gas Corrosion Testing and materials tests including tensile and hardness analysis per ASTM standards. Perform chemical test solution preparation and conduct basic equipment maintenance to ensure instruments remain operational. Support laboratory operations by maintaining a safe, clean workspace and providing timely results following work orders. Work Monday to Friday in a modern Calgary lab environment. Requires a technical diploma in Materials or Chemical Engineering Technology with hands-on experience and proficiency in MS Office.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on work experience
- Previous experience in a laboratory or industrial environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude, including troubleshooting equipment, working with tools, or performing equipment maintenance
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
- Strong attention to detail
- Willingness to learn
- Self-motivated
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work effectively on-site
- Ability to interact with clients, team members, and supervisors
- Comfortable working safely in a laboratory environment
- Ability to stand for an extended period of time
- Monday to Friday, 8-hour day shifts
- Based in Calgary, AB
Desired Qualifications
- Technical diploma in Materials, Metallurgy, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline
- Chemistry-related background
- Background with NACE/AMPP and/or ASTM industry standards
- Experience with laboratory equipment such tensile tester, hardness tester, metallography mounting and polishing equipment
