Job Summary
Lab Technician performs medical laboratory tests, procedures, experiments, and analyses to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Responsible for obtaining and preparing patient samples, maintaining records of laboratory orders, conducting chemical analysis of body fluids (blood and urine) using centrifuge and related lab skills, collaborating with the care team to facilitate patient flow, reporting results to providers, performing quality control per manufacture guidelines, documenting actions in patient records, managing the clinic lab pool and orders, and maintaining records to meet CLIA requirements. Requires High School Diploma, Lab Technician Certification, and BLS/CPR; proficiency with electronic health records (EPIC); strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills; and ability to comply with lab regulations. Preferred: Associate degree in related field; 3–5 years of experience in related medical field; knowledge of adult learning models. Equity statement included.”,
Required Qualifications
- Minimum: High School Diploma
- Lab Technician Certification
- BLS HealthCare Provider (First Aid/CPR)
- Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
- Skilled at using electronic health records (EPIC)
- Knowledge/ability to perform chemical analysis of body fluids (blood and urine)
- Ability to obtain and prepare patient samples for analysis
- Experience with maintaining accurate records and documentation in patient records
- Familiarity with CLIA requirements and regulations
- Ability to work with care team and manage lab inventory
