Job Summary
Prepare samples with accuracy and precision using basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies. Perform routine operation, maintenance, and calibration of prep instruments while adhering to SGS's analytical SOPs. Independently receive, login, or prep samples and maintain a laboratory notebook to support daily production targets and turnaround times. Follow safe laboratory practices to ensure a secure working environment. This 90-day seasonal role requires a high school diploma or associate's degree in chemistry, GC experience preferred, and the ability to lift 25 lbs. Pays $20-22 per hour with overtime eligibility and 401K participation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- 0-2 years of experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories
- Advanced English language skills
- Basic mathematical and reasoning skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to lift/carry/push or pull upwards of 25 lbs. on a frequent basis
- Open to working a 90-day temporary role
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree in chemistry or similar scientific discipline
- 1-2 years of years' relevant experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories
- GC experience
