Job Summary
Under supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor, performs technical, professional work of routine difficulty to provide control testing data for wastewater treatment facilities and industrial discharges. Responsibilities include setting up, calibrating, and operating laboratory equipment; preparing reagents for analyses; performing general testing according to written methods; documenting results in laboratory notebooks and entering data in LIMS; maintaining a clean lab environment; and adhering to basic safety practices. Requires a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and competence in chemistry/biology, standard analytical techniques, and basic computer/Microsoft software skills.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
- Must possess good knowledge of the basic principles and practical applications of chemistry and biology
- experience with computers and Microsoft software
- ability to follow written methods and operate laboratory equipment
- document results in laboratory notebooks and enter data in LIMS
- physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- experience with standard analytical techniques using common laboratory equipment
- lab classes in biology and chemistry preferred
