Lab Technician- Day Shift

Job Summary
Evaluate specimens and organize workflow to optimize testing efficiency and turnaround times. Extract, denature, and purify DNA/RNA from assorted specimen types while performing PCR sequencing methods. Evaluate results for interference or inhibition issues, then conduct quality control and validation activities to verify clinical assay performance. Maintain equipment through assigned maintenance and troubleshooting, record temperature data, and operate complex laboratory programs. Perform proficiency testing for regulatory compliance and assist in writing standard operating procedures. Follow laboratory policies regarding attendance and time reporting. This day shift role runs Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00am to 5:30pm for our new molecular testing laboratory.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, OR Associate's in Applied Science Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology
- Ability to manage change
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time without resting
- Ability to carry up to 20lbs in weight
- Day Shift position availability (Tuesday - Saturday 9:00am-5:30pm)
Desired Qualifications
- 6 months work experience in a CLIA-accredited clinical laboratory
