Lab Technician

Support the instructional program and operation of Clinical Skills Laboratories. Responsibilities include Laboratory Duties (70%) such as maintaining clean facilities (Clinical Skills Lab, Practice Lab, Freezer Room), preparing fluid solutions for model making, creating and maintaining cadaver models, setting up and breaking down labs, managing inventory and storage, collecting suitable specimens from the local abattoir for teaching/research, proper disposal of organic waste and biohazardous materials, and assisting faculty with use of live animals in instruction. Assist Faculty with Professional Veterinary Student Teaching (30%), including ensuring teaching models and specimens are ready, preparing learning materials, assisting students in locating models, maintaining specimens and freezer storage, and potentially teaching related laboratory subject matter under guidance. Other duties as assigned. Required/preferred qualifications emphasize an Associate's Degree in Biological Sciences or related field, laboratory/animal handling experience, Microsoft Office/database proficiency, professional communication, ability to lift 50 lbs, and flexibility for overtime.
