Job Summary
Lab Technician responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests to ensure products meet customer specifications, documenting quality results from receipt to finished product, and assisting plant operations with quality and processing matters. Key duties include auditing process controls (weight checks, batch sheets, HACCP, inspections), applying analytical procedures (titrations, visual inspections, flavoring analyses), maintaining HACCP and FSMA compliance, supporting formula adjustments to satisfy requirements, operating and maintaining analytical lab equipment, using AS400 and JDE for quality functions, understanding crystallization/tempering of oils and dressings, and ensuring sanitation and GMPs are followed. Travel may be required alongside strong communication with operating departments and adherence to SQF code and preventive controls.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of experience in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science
- Food manufacturing lab environment experience in fats, oils, dressings preferred
