Job Summary
Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) sought for full-time position in hospital laboratory. Responsibilities include daily laboratory operations to provide precise and timely results, specimen collection, start-up and maintenance of lab equipment, specimen labeling and processing, routine testing across all areas with adherence to quality controls, inventory monitoring, and shipment of specimens to reference labs. May assist in training new personnel and students; participates in housekeeping and ongoing education; ensures HIPAA compliance and effective communication within the health-care team. Requires an Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or completion of an MLT program, and ability to work diverse shifts including weekends and on-call. Perform DOT/non-DOT urine drug testing collections and Breath Alcohol Testing as required; maintain detailed records and operate hospital/lab computer systems.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technician or completion of an MLT program
- Certification for DOT urine drug testing collection and Breath Alcohol Testing (may become certified after employment)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work weekends and on-call as needed
- HIPAA confidentiality
- Experience or ability to perform DOT/non-DOT urine drug testing and Breath Alcohol Testing
