Job Summary
Analytical Services Lab Technician II on 2nd shift performing chemical analyses on raw, in-process, and finished materials using wet chemical and instrumental methods. Responsibilities include generating lab reports and certificates of analysis, providing data to production with recommendations for batch corrections, maintaining samples and GLP compliance, and supporting method development and stability studies. Requires familiarity with wet-chemical techniques (titrations, gravimetric, Karl Fischer), basic instrumentation, data entry, and strong teamwork on a manufacturing floor.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 1) The Technician I will have a High School Diploma (or GED) or higher degree in a science with 0-1 years of laboratory experience.
- 2) Basic knowledge of word processing & spreadsheets and ability to learn company-specific software.
- 3) Proficiency in English (written and oral).
- 4) Basic math skills
- 5) Willingness to learn basic laboratory techniques
- 6) Ability to communicate well with colleagues and work well with other members of the Analytical Services lab team
- Duties and Responsibilities: Analyze materials using standard wet chemical techniques including titrations (colorimetric/potentiometric end points), gravimetric methods, specific gravity, and water content by Karl Fischer or Xylol method.
- Maintain analysis records, laboratory reports and Certificates of Analysis (C of A)
- Provide analytical data to production and make basic recommendations on batch corrections
- Maintain sample retains of raw materials and finished goods
- Practice GLP and comply with Chemical Hygiene Plan and Environmental policies
- Assist in developing new product stability studies, testing plans and result archival
- Assure lab areas are stocked, clean and orderly
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with hazardous materials with required PPE
