Job Summary
Lab Tech I position for 2nd shift in Atlanta, GA. Under the general direction of the Quality Manager, perform analytical, chemical, and physical tests for quality control of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods. Participate in investigations to determine cause and corrective actions for deviations, conduct routine sampling and inspection, and ensure compliance with safety procedures. Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment; initiate and document Quality Notifications/DMRs/DMAs and participate in cross-functional root-cause analysis. Interpret data to guide manufacturing to meet specifications; prepare samples for outside testing (including environmental testing); perform COA verification and raw material sampling.
Required Qualifications
- HS diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience (manufacturing experience acceptable)
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs)
- Knowledge of PC software and data entry experience
- Color Vision (ability to detect color)
- Experience with analytical testing and quality control in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal)
- HS diploma or GED (required)
- 4-year college degree in science or 2-year science diploma plus 2 years relevant experience (preferred)
- Experience in food manufacturing (preferred)
- Working knowledge of statistics (preferred)
- Ability to calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment (preferred)
