Job Summary
Supervise day-to-day operations of non-technical staff in the department, assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing, train and mentor non-technical personnel, monitor daily workflow to ensure proper staffing, manage production quality assurance records, and drive continuous process and service level improvements while coaching direct reports and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 or more years of experience in a laboratory, healthcare, manufacturing or warehouse environment
- 6 months or more of experience in a clinical laboratory (preferred)
- 6 months or more supervising or leading a team (preferred)
- Strong computer skills; Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
- Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
