Job Summary
Manage the daily operation of the Laboratory, overseeing personnel management, goal setting, budget input, and policy procedures. Coordinate activities with the Medical Director while supervising test management, LIS maintenance, and staff development. Deliver outstanding customer service and lead collaborative efforts with technical staff to ensure regulatory compliance under NYS Dept. of Health regulations. Requires a Bachelor's in Medical Technology with hospital-based internship or ASCP certification, plus four years of clinical experience. Full-time day shift (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM) with biweekly hours totaling 80. Part of University of Vermont Health's six-hospital network serving northern New York and Vermont.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology (hospital-based formal internship required)
- NYSED License as Clinical Laboratory Technologist
- Meets minimum requirements for laboratory supervisor as described in NYS Dept. of Health regulations 58-2.4
Desired Qualifications
- ASCP, NCA or equivalent certification
- Four years of clinical laboratory experience
- NYSED License as Clinical Laboratory Technologist (preferred)
