Job Summary
Lab Supervisor: supervise operation of laboratory services in assigned areas, oversee day-to-day workflow, assist managers with staffing, onboarding, quality control, and policy development; coordinate reference laboratory specimens and LIS downtime; ensure timely test results; supervise and train staff; ensure compliance with hospital policies, CBA where applicable, and safety; participate in performance evaluations and staff development; capable of managing multiple lab sections, communicating with physicians and nurses, and directing workflow to maintain patient care efficiency. Must be willing to work at both Princeton and Bluefield Campuses and be flexible for shifts as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Cytotechnology, Histotechnology (Medical Laboratory Science) or related field OR Associate’s Degree in Medical (Clinical) Laboratory Technology or related field
- Current licensure as required by the state in which services will be provided: WV: Licensed in one of the following: Medical Laboratory Technician Medical Laboratory Scientist Cytotechnologist Histotechnologist; PA: No State License requirement; OH: No State License requirement; MD: No State License requirement
- Four (4) years’ experience as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Technician, Histotechnologist or Cytotechnologist
- One of the following national certifications through ASCP or AMT: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Cytotechnologist (CT) Histotechnologist (HTL)
