Job Summary
Oversee and lead daily laboratory operations, supervising staff in routine and advanced testing for cement, concrete, asphalt, and aggregate. Maintain equipment calibration, manage inventory, and ensure strict compliance with AASHTO and ASTM standards through CCRL inspections and proficiency testing. Prepare reports, purchase orders, and equipment recommendations while monitoring performance and providing progress updates to management. Lead efforts to maintain laboratory certifications and accurate documentation for audits. Full-time role with per diem, company truck, and gas card provided; project lasts up to a year. Requires extensive travel to remote construction sites and flexibility for evening or weekend hours.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience managing laboratory operations and staff
- In-depth knowledge of AASHTO and ASTM standards related to construction materials testing
- ACI and ATTI lab certifications
- ATTI Soil & Aggregate
- ATTI Asphalt
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities
- Open to working in the Kingman area
- Ability to withstand exposure to extreme weather conditions in construction areas located in rugged terrain and/or subject to traffic hazards
- Ability to travel to work in remote locales
- Ability to occasionally lift in excess of 50 pounds
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with few breaks
- Ability to extend walking over rough terrain
- Ability to climb over 10 feet
- Ability to be exposed to hazardous materials
- Ability to tolerate continuous loud noises
- Ability to perform strenuous physical activity
- Ability to work in proximity to large construction equipment
