Lab Simulation Clinical Instructor (Nursing)

Job Summary

Facilitate nursing laboratory and simulation experiences for pre-licensure students by demonstrating skills, operating Gaumard high-fidelity simulation systems, and conducting pre-briefing and debriefing sessions. Evaluate student performance using competency checklists and provide immediate feedback, coaching, and remediation while maintaining a safe learning environment. Document attendance, evaluations, and clinical performance in a timely manner, collaborating with course coordinators and faculty to ensure instructional consistency. Maintain simulation equipment, supplies, and software, and participate in curriculum development and professional development activities. Full-time or part-time status with 12-hour shifts; requires current Florida RN license, BSN, and four years of clinical experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum of four (4) years of recent clinical nursing experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 pounds, and demonstrate nursing procedures
  • Ability to operate simulation equipment and computers
  • Ability to respond quickly during simulation activities

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN)
  • Previous teaching, clinical instruction, or simulation experience
  • Experience operating Gaumard high-fidelity simulation equipment
  • ACLS certification
  • Knowledge of simulation technology, electronic documentation, and learning management systems
  • Strong clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to teach, mentor, and evaluate nursing students
  • Ability to facilitate high-fidelity simulation scenarios using Gaumard technology
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to operate simulation equipment and instructional technology
  • Commitment to student success, diversity, and academic excellence
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and clinical partners
  • Experience with Gaumard high-fidelity simulation systems
  • Experience using ATI, Canvas, and other educational technologies
  • Knowledge of NCLEX test plans and competency-based nursing education
  • Passion for mentoring future nurses and promoting clinical excellence
