Job Summary
Lab Services Coordinator I responsible for departmental administrative tasks, reviewing complex patient appointment sets and associated lab work, and providing exemplary customer service at the front desk. Responsibilities include verifying appointment schedules, entering and linking verbal lab orders, maintaining PHI confidentiality, reconciling missing labs, communicating with providers to prevent patient delays, importing outside images into Epic, using PACS, coordinating imaging workflows, managing patient CDs, and delivering outstanding customer service to patients and staff. The role emphasizes effective communication, teamwork across departments, and adherence to regulatory standards in a high-volume oncology-adjacent setting in Boston. The position requires proficiency with Epic, RTLS, and related systems and supports the patient experience from check-in through imaging and lab reconciliation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Prior customer service experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage complex administrative duties
- HIPAA compliance
- Experience with Epic and PACS is a plus
- Patient-focused with strong customer service orientation
