LAB PROCESSOR

Job Summary
Process venipuncture and capillary puncture on patients while verifying specimen identification and informing supervisors of any discrepancies. Prepare lab specimens according to established procedures, including special requirements for reference work, and perform simple equipment maintenance such as cleaning centrifuges and refrigerators. Transport specimens from collection sites to the main lab and infectious waste to a centralized location, signing appropriate manifests. Maintain accurate records of reference specimens and qualitative urine determinations. Arrive Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 6:15 pm at the main campus on Secor Rd. Works under the supervision of the Administrative Laboratory Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Consistently arrives at work in appropriate/professional attire.
- Completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Adheres to all clinic policies and procedures.
- Knows, understands and adheres to all laboratories, Clinic, HIPPA and/or OSHA safety standards.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques involved in routine tests.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- HS diploma or GED.
- Phlebotomy diploma from an accredited school.
Desired Qualifications
- Phlebotomy certification and 6 months previous experience.
- Certified Phlebotomist.
