Job Summary
Phlebotomist role performing painless venipuncture and capillary collection for the Coumadin clinic, ensuring proper patient identification, specimen labeling with barcodes, and preparation for laboratory analysis. Responsible for processing specimens, reconciling day-end reports, maintaining safety and sample integrity, and providing guest service to internal team members and patients. Requires phlebotomy certification or MA certification and 2+ years of lab experience; familiarity with Quest/LabCorp test searches and universal precautions; ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Location: Port Charlotte, FL; Schedule: full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm. Benefits include PTO, holidays, health/dental/vision, 401(k) match, and additional programs.
Required Qualifications
- Phlebotomy certification or M.A. certification or certificate from a phlebotomy program
- 2+ years of experience in Lab
- Understand labeling/ID protocol and biosafety regulations (OSHA)
- Ability to interpret miscellaneous order and guide new phlebotomists
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
