Job Summary
Greet patients, request required information, and explain the specimen collection process before performing phlebotomies, connecting/disconnecting holter monitors, and performing ECG tracings. Conduct special test collections for medical/legal drug screens, paternity tests, and clinical trials while completing related documentation. Maintain client relationships by responding to inquiries and follow up on requests, then complete data entry for patient demographics and requisition information. Prepare specimens for transportation and testing, ensuring strict adherence to patient privacy and confidentiality standards. This part-time float role involves travel to various PSCs as operational demands dictate.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent
- Phlebotomy experience
- ECG training or experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Good computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm
- Strong customer/patient service with the ability to relate to patients and clients even in stressful situations
- Strong empathy, flexibility, adaptability to change, and problem solving skills
- Ability to maintain the strictest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality
- Vaccinations and/or immunization screening (if mandatory for the specific facility)
- Availability for various shifts and schedules depending on operational demands
- Willingness to travel to various PSCs (Point of Service Centers)
