Lab Pack Chemist II

Job Summary
Performs hazardous waste lab-pack tasks including inventorying, identifying, segregating, and packaging waste in accordance with Lab Pack policies and regulatory requirements. Conducts onsite services such as waste collection, consolidation, sampling, safety/compliance inspections, and other duties for customers. Assists internal groups (Depack, Retail, HHW) as needed; prepares shipment documentation and labeling; maintains CDL with Hazmat Endorsement to operate company vehicles; follows Health & Safety/JSA procedures; leads/coordinates field/lab pack jobs with multiple personnel; mentors new employees; assists sales in creating estimates; ensures regulatory compliance (LDRs, certifications); completes site walks and evaluates requirements for awarded work; strong communication and teamwork skills; capable of operating Windows-based software; ability to lift heavy materials and travel as required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate College degree in area of General Science or equivalent experience
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazardous Material endorsement
- CDL B to be obtained within 6 months
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER (29 CFR 1910.120)
- 8 hours DOT Training
- PPE Training which includes Respirators
- Moderate to extensive travel with 20% overnight travel
- Physical ability to lift and move material frequently exceeding 55 lbs
- Basic understanding of chemistry through general chemistry or biology
- Advanced knowledge of EPA and DOT
- Minimum one (1) year lab pack experience
