Lab Pack Chemist II

Job Summary
Manage hazardous waste materials by inventorying, segregating, and packaging waste in compliance with regulations and Clean Earth policies. Conduct onsite services including waste collection, consolidation, sampling, and safety inspections while preparing shipments through labeling and loading. Perform unknown field testing for classification and lead or coordinate multi-personnel field service jobs. Complete site walks to assess requirements and assist sales in creating estimates. Mentor new employees in field duties and follow all Health & Safety procedures, including developing on-site plans. Maintain a CDL with Hazmat endorsement and moderate to extensive travel with 20% overnight. Requires a BS/BA in science, 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training, and extensive Lab Pack experience.
Required Qualifications
- Associate College degree in area of General Science or equivalent experience
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazardous Material endorsement and a clear record
- Moderate to extensive travel with 20% overnight travel
- Physical ability to lift and move material of various weights frequently exceeding 55 lbs
- Basic understanding of chemistry through general chemistry or biology
- Advanced knowledge of EPA and DOT
- Minimum one (1) year lab pack experience
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER (29 CFR 1910.120)
- 40 hours Depack Experience
- 8 hours DOT Training
- PPE Training which includes Respirators
- CDL B to be obtained within a 6-month period from your start date
- Successful completion of a DOT physical
- Successful completion of a DOT Drug Screen
- Completion of Clean Earth Lab Pack I Training – (24 hours)
- RCRA/DOT refresher course

- Demonstrates extensive Lab Pack knowledge (i.e., US EPA, DOT, and chemical properties)
