Job Summary
Manage, coach, and develop a distributed Lab Operations team while planning capacity and staffing based on demand trends. Own day-to-day operations across lab result review, order investigations, and proactive issue resolution with labs and customers to ensure SLAs, quality standards, and productivity targets are met. Interface with vendors to troubleshoot issues and set up streamlined processes, stepping into complex operational issues by coordinating with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and external partners. Improve SOPs, quality standards, and workflows to reduce manual work and recurring issues, building a team capable of solving problems independently.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years hiring and managing operations teams through growth
- Experience coaching people to become more independent
- Experience handling performance conversations
- Experience building a team that doesn't rely on you for every decision
- Experience leading teams that spend their day solving exception-heavy operational problems
- Experience making decisions when situations don't fit neatly into a process
- Experience building or significantly improving SOPs, SLAs, quality frameworks, or operational processes
- Experience managing people across multiple time zones
- Experience building a team rhythm that keeps everyone aligned without constant oversight
- Experience handling direct vendor relationships in business-critical operations
- Experience being the escalation point for customers
- Experience working in healthcare operations, diagnostics, logistics, or another operational environment where accuracy matters
- Physically based in GMT and EST timezones
Desired Qualifications
- Experience managing distributed operations teams based in the Philippines
- Experience in lab operations, diagnostics, or healthcare logistics
- Experience partnering with an internal systems or tooling team to automate operational workflows
