Job Summary
Conduct phlebotomy, process and send lab specimens, and perform in-house lab tests according to established protocols. Execute daily quality control checks, manage inbox tasks for LabCorp and pending reports, and oversee staff adherence to safety regulations. Coordinate specimen processing, review invoices, and handle monthly reporting and reconciliation of lab paperwork. Perform daily vaccine duties including temperature monitoring, stock and clean lab equipment, and order supplies. Assist with patient flow, Spirometry, and EKG as needed, while maintaining proficiency through training and testing.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Six (6) months Medical Assistant experience in an ambulatory medical care setting and/or lab
- Six (6) months experience in an ambulatory medical care setting
- Ability to read and interpret technical and other complex documents
- Ability to write routine correspondence such as letters and memos
- Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to internal and/or external clients
- Work situations require consideration and interpretation of circumstances or information to choose the most effective response
- Solutions may be technical yet relatively straightforward and well-defined once problems are understood
- Demonstrated operating knowledge of computers
- Intermediate level ability with Microsoft Office
- Intermediate level ability with Outlook
- Intermediate level ability with electronic health records
- Active Washington State Medical Assistant Certification
- Interim Certification
- Medical Assistant Registered application
- Successful completion of Interim MA Certification application process within 60 days of date of hire
- Maintain current certification/licensure as a Medical Assistant in the state of Washington
- Proof of vaccination for COVID-19
- Proof of immunizations and/or immunity to MMR (measles, mumps, rubella)
- Proof of immunizations and/or immunity to Varicella
- Annual Influenza immunization
- TB QuantiFERON Gold Titer
- Tdap (within last 10 years)
- Hepatitis B
- Maintains good attendance
- Is punctual
- Works full scheduled shift as a condition of employment
- Demonstrates respectful, professional and appropriate behavior that supports a team-oriented work environment
