Job Summary
Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests on blood, tissue, and bodily fluids using automated and manual techniques. Maintain and calibrate instruments to ensure accuracy, analyze test data for abnormalities, and report findings to physicians promptly. Adhere to strict safety, quality control, and regulatory guidelines while documenting procedures in laboratory information systems. Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve technical issues and participate in continuing education to stay current with technology.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed as a Medical Technologist
- Experience working in a clinical laboratory setting performing diagnostic testing
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and regulatory requirements (e.g., CLIA, CAP)
- Ability to operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and information systems
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with laboratory automation systems and advanced diagnostic technologies
- Familiarity with laboratory quality management systems and process improvement methodologies
- Previous experience in a hospital or large healthcare facility laboratory environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
