Job Summary
Lead the Laboratory Manager role by overseeing Blood Bank, Transfusion Services, Chemistry, Hematology, and Phlebotomy operations while ensuring compliance with CAP, TJC, and OSHA standards. Manage full fiscal responsibility for the section, including budget preparation, staffing expenses, and billing code audits. Provide 24/7 call coverage, maintain equipment maintenance logs, and oversee staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluations. Collaborate with the Administrative Director and Chief of Laboratory Medicine to drive strategic planning, quality assurance programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program in Laboratory Science or a related field
- Minimum of two years of management experience in a laboratory setting
- Strong background in clinical laboratory operations
- Demonstrated experience in managing quality and compliance programs within a laboratory environment
- Strong leadership and management skills
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, including CAP, TJC, and other relevant agencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage budgets, optimize resources, and enhance revenue
