Job Summary
The Lab Manager I will support teaching and research labs in the Ocean Engineering and Marine Sciences department by conducting routine maintenance and troubleshooting of lab equipment, managing the procurement process for lab supplies, and working with the Environmental Health and Safety department to maintain safety protocols. The role involves assisting faculty with lab experiments, providing training on equipment usage and safety procedures, and maintaining detailed records of equipment maintenance and safety inspections.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in ocean engineering/ marine sciences or related field
- Minimum of 0-2 years of relevant work experience required
- Computer Skills- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power-point, Visio, Outlook) (Required)
- Strong technical background and expertise in ocean engineering and marine sciences
- Previous experience in lab management or a related technical leadership role
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Knowledge of engineering modeling tools, software, and machinery
- Technical and hands on experience with lab equipment
- Ability to repair small equipment problems
- Familiarity with safety protocols and compliance regulations related to lab environments.
