Job Summary
Lab Engineer responsible for defining evaluation plans with the Project Leader and CP R&D for product validation and for product failure analysis/improvement validation; selecting optimal equipment-procedure combinations for laboratory evaluations; maintaining lab equipment to ensure uninterrupted testing; planning yearly investments in new equipment; communicating lead times and deviations to stakeholders; ensuring test results are thoroughly documented and reported; submitting validation reports to the R&D manager and communicating validated findings to the Project Leader or Technical Support team; assessing and tracking risks to product quality with the R&D manager; following up on lab activities to align with priorities and deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- 3 years above experience in a product validation related field, preferably mechanical validation
- Knowledge & Skills: measurement (physical, mechanical), data analysis, problem solving, mechanical and electrical design, safety practices, ISO standards, VBA, 3D-CAD software (Creo/ProEngineer), MS Office, English and Mandarin (technical level)
- Fluent spoken and written English and Chinese (Mandarin)
- French speaking or reading is a plus
