Job Summary
Coordinate daily laboratory activities and perform quality analyses including NIR, moisture, peroxide value, water activity, and mycotoxin testing in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. Conduct incoming ingredient inspections by probing bulk trucks, collecting representative samples, and documenting results for acceptance or rejection. Maintain laboratory records, manage retain samples, and support product hold, release, and disposition activities by providing accurate data to Quality Management. Assist with investigations involving microbiological findings, customer complaints, and quality deviations while ensuring audit readiness. Train Quality Assurance Technicians and maintain equipment calibration schedules. Work day shift in the manufacturing facility, occasionally working extended hours or weekends to support production and investigations. Requires three years of laboratory or manufacturing experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office and NetSuite.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of three (3) years of laboratory, quality assurance, or manufacturing experience
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn company software systems
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments
- Experience performing laboratory analyses including NIR, moisture, peroxide value, water activity, mycotoxin, or similar testing
- Experience coordinating third-party laboratory testing and retain sample programs
- Must be available to work extended hours or weekends
- Must be available to review product releases remotely
- Must be able to frequently stand and walk throughout the manufacturing facility
- Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders as necessary
- Must be able to bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive movements
- Must be able to work in varying temperatures and manufacturing environments
- Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
