Job Summary
Coordinate accessioning, handling, and gross preparation of surgical specimens while managing laboratory inquiries regarding specimen collection and processing. Act as a resource for hospital personnel on specimen procurement, testing, and results, ensuring adherence to protocols including thin prep processing of cytology specimens. Maintain all laboratory procedures for referred testing specimens. Requires six months of phlebotomy experience, certification from the American Society of Phlebotomy technicians, and weekend/holiday availability.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Computer experience
- Good oral and written communications skills
- Six months experience in all phases of Phlebotomy in a hospital environment
- Weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Certification from the American Society of Phlebotomy technicians
